Please help, I followed this simple guide, it seemed easy

http://www.howtogeek...mputer-with-xp/

But now that XP has been installed on the 2nd partition, the D: drive, it will not work I get the "could not read from selected boot disk" error. Now I feel like if I could just get the boot cfg edited properly, I will get into WinXP and can continue as the guide says from there. But the bootcfg /rebuild did not work, can someone please help with recovery console commands for editing boot.ini?
This is XP professional.

No one?? I had to register and post in this forum on my windows phone, lol. Well it was hopeless so I just popped in the windows 7 cd and hit "repair automatically" so that I am able to boot into the computer again.

Now shouldn't it be simple to edit the bootcfg from here, so I will boot into the WindowsXP on my other partition? After initial installation process, it was supposed to boot into XP and continue the installation from there, but nothing would work...

I used to be a tech here years ago.  Back then most techs would also help out at BleepingComputer.  I had to laugh when I saw your reply.  No offense!  Get some sleep!

Appologies to the OP for going off topic!  I couldn't help myself. :D
