Hello, G2G. I'm having an issue getting any device to connect to the internet through my family's router (DIR-655).

The issue: "DNS probe finished no internet"

is the error displayed when trying to connect to the internet through chrome This goes for phones, other computers, and even the computer directly connected via ethernet (mine). What's odd is that the internet light on the router is lit up and seems to be working perfectly fine, broadcasting a signal and all. But it's an empty signal.

I am currently writing this while directly connected from the modem to the computer.

What I've tried:

several power cycles
a couple of factory resets on the router

changing DNS address to Open DNS

ipconfig release/renew

flushing the DNS

netsh winsock reset

That's as much as I've been able to do on my own. If any of the geeks here could help me out I'd really appreciate it. Should anybody need more details, let me know.
