I'm starting college in the fall and I just bought the Asus Zenbook UX305 to use as my school computer.  On the Asus website it says there's no fan.  How does the computer cool itself without a fan (or does it cool itself at all)?  Will this have an effect on how long the computer will last?

Heat rises, so you can get some airflow that way. Also, if you reduce the speed at which it runs, that means less power and less heat. The original Mac did not have a fan (an aftermarket company sold fans for it). It could have an effect on how long it will last, but it would also have an effect on the speed since they would most likely have to run it slower to reduce the heat. The lack of a fan means less power, so the battery will last longer.
