Her's something that will test your abilities.

I have Office 2007 and am trying to open a document created in 1991. I get the following error message:

You are attempting to open a file that was created with an earlier version of Word. This file is blocked from opening in this version by your registry policy setting.

I've tried all the links on Google, tried following KB922850 and have been in touch with two of Microsoft's computerized Microsoft Answer Techs, and still haven't got an answer. I was able to get the information I wanted using WordPad, but the rest was gibberish

It didn't worked.

Did you use the "Fix it for me"? Or, did you try editing the Registry yourself? "There is no "Trust Center" in Office 2007 or Office 2003. Therefore, you have to change the value of the FileOpenBlock registry subkey to disable the restriction of certain file types." There's a lot of ways listed to unblock.
