Version 2.1.6.1022 and 2.1.8.1057 dont open.  I've ran all these programs and then some.  Nothing it being detected. 2.0.4.1028 runs fine except the nagging about update.  Since they changed the GUI in .1022 It won't open.

I don't feel as though I'm infected and think it's a program issue.

Windows Defender and Nod32 works fine. Window Defender is disabled because I have NOD32 installed.

-JRT

-OJT

-Rogue Killer

-RKill

-Unhide

-FRST64

-ADWCleaner

-TrendMicro Online

-NOD32 <-----Currently running

-MS Malicous

-SUPERAnti <-------- found nothing

-MEMTEST to make sure my memory wasn't bad.

I look through the logs an there isn't anything that shows up as malware and when I run it through loganalyzer MBAM Services comes back as Malware.   I used MBAM Clean and run MBAM Check and still nothing in the logs and when I run it through loganalyzer I get no "Malware" noted.

Chameleon works when 2.0.4.1028 is install but doesn't work with later versions.

Hello JetFixxxer,

Welcome to Geekstogo.

From what you say it does sound like conflict of some sort or a technical issue but let's have a look at a FRST scan to see what we can see.

I take it you still have FRST on your machine.

Please run another FRST scan with the Addition.txt box ticked and post back the two logs generated - FRST.txt and Addition.txt.

Hello JetFixxxer,

Please copy and paste your logs into the thread. Do not attach unless asked to do so. :)

Now

Nothing much leaping out at me.

Do you know this one:

C:\Users\Jason\x.exe

Some versions of that are bad. It likely would have been removed by ESET if it was bad but just to be safe I have included it below for removal. If you know about it and want to keep it for some reason then take it out of the fix.

Moving on

Open notepad.

Please copy the contents of the code box below.

To do this highlight (click in the box and press Ctrl + A) the contents of the box and right click on it. Paste this into the open notepad. Save it to the Desktop as fixlist.txt.

Alternatively type the contents of the box into notepad and save it to your desktop as fixlist.txt.

NOTE. It's important that both files, FRST and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work.

I have researched your problem and found this thread.

https://forums.malwa...is-not-working/

Also found these:

https://forums.malwa...val-process-2x/

https://forums.malwa...howtopic=146011

If you haven't already done so, have a look at those links and see if there is something there that will help.

And, have you checked to see whether ESET is blocking that version of MBAM?

Let me know if any of those make a difference. :)

I've tried everything on Malwarbytes forums.   ESET isn't blocking it.  I installed ESET because MBAM wouldn't start. Then I installed SUPERAntispyware.  I've tried every single suggestions and programs and not one of them came back with a smoking gun. Windows defender runs, ESET runs, and SAS runs.  What are the chances that I'm only infected with a Malware that doesn't open MBAM, but allows other to run.

When they went to the new GUI in 6.1022 that's when the issue started.  I can run 4.1028 without any issue except of the nagging screen about updating.

I am not seeing current Malware as a cause, could be wrong but I don't think so.

For possible leftover corruption from old malware you could try this:

Download Windows Repair (All In One) from here.

It will allow you to repair common issues with your computer such as firewall, file permission, and Windows Update problems.  When using this tool you can select the particular fixes you would like to launch and start the repair process.

Please download the tool to somewhere you can find it.

Double click to open and follow the prompts to install.

Once installed click on the tab Start Repairs and the button Start

At the list that presents put a check (tick) in the following:

• Reset Registry Permissions
• Reset File Permissions
• Register System Files
• Repair WMI
• Repair MDAC & MS Jet
• Repair Hosts File
• Remove Policies Set By Infections

Also put a check in the Restart/Shutdown System When Finished (lower right) box.

and in Restart System

Then click on the Start button if it doesn't do it automatically

If it asks you to back up your system click No and continue

When it is finished copy and paste the Windows Repair Log back here.

After that

One last thing you could do for the malware angle is to run an online scan with Dr Web.

Go to the link below and follow the instructions to run Dr Web CureIt.

http://www.freedrweb.com/cureit/

  • Dr Web will scan your computer. When finished a report is generated.
  • Please open and copy and paste the contents back here.

If the log is too long for one post just use as many as necessary or zip and upload as an attachment.
