office home and student 2013 32 bit :

Excel, powerpoint, runs after clicking on a new document. I don't receive a windows telling me to click yes or no (user accountcontrol)

when I want to start Word, it gives me first the user account control window, then I click yes, then the error appears:

there is an error that causes Word to malfunction. Word will be closed. Do you want to fix the error now?

I tried to run word with the following: winword.exe /a   but same user account windows and error appear.

I have  runned the fixes in adding removing sofware, the fast one, and the online one;  dit not help. tried several times, even with the fix it tool from microsoft , the tool could not find anything as I already uninstalled office.

I had the laptop cleaned, and the expert refered me to this section of the geekstogo forum.

Hi,

Remove completely Office 2013 by Uninstalling and then use the FixIt tool provided by Microsoft here.

There is a complete guide here.

After this restart the computer and reinstall Office.

I already tried that fix, after I uninstalled office, then when I runned the fix, it says that is nothing to delete (my own words).

I will try it again, but maybe it's better I don't first uninstall office?

You did that after the malware removal?

I read you created a new user account, does the Word problem happens also if you use the other account?

How about Excel does it works?

it took some time to prepare (new account) as it is the first time I run the new account

Word does work there, I first received the windows that office is installed succesfully, en take a tour window.

the account I made is a local account.

the account where word does not work is with emailaccount.

Is there a method to solve this problem in the account without lossing the documents etc?

Try to reset the Word user settings in the Microsoft account with the problem by using the fix available on this link:

Hi,

An if you start Word in Safe Mode?

- Press windows8_key.png + R
- on the run window Copy & Paste the command:

winword /safe

No, word starts directly.

Even excel and powerpoint in the bad account run without UAC

Hi,

I would like to take a look into the registry

Download SystemLook from one of the links below according to your OS Architecture and save it to your Desktop.
SystemLook (32-bit)
SystemLook (32-bit) - Mirror #2
SystemLook (64-bit)
SystemLook (64-bit) - Mirror #2

  • Double-click SystemLook/SystemLook_x64 to run it.
  • Accept the prompt Allow the program to make changes to this computer (UAC prompt)
  • Copy the content of the following codebox into the main textfield:
    :Reg
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags /sub
  • Click the Look button to start the scan.
  • When finished, a notepad window will open with the results of the scan. Please post this log in your next reply.

Note: The log can be found on your Desktop entitled SystemLook.txt
