Hi. I have a problem that is confusing me a a number of other people at our church.

We have been using this usb to hdmi adapter for awhile now with no problems. We have a desktop computer hooked up to a smart tv directing using the hdmi plug on the computer. we then needed to hook up a third monitor. so we got a regular monitor and this adapter. we plugged it in worked fine till last week.

We had a bad thunderstorm and not sure if the church building itself got hit by lightning or not. A tree in the back yard got hit. we had to replace our modem after the storm and now this adapter doesn't want to work.

when we plug it in the computer recognizes it as a monitor but it reads no monitor on the display screen on the computer. The monitor doesn't work. Not sure what is happening. we have tried different cords and also a different computer with the same results.

We are running windows 7.

It is hard to say, but based on what you said, it is likely that it got damaged. The only real way to tell is to get another one and try it and see if it works.
