Hi guys,

I recently decided to instal my free upgrade to windows 10 on my HP EliteBook, however, it seems to have broken my computer; or at least been stopped part way through? I downloaded the file and began the installation, and although the start went to plan, it quickly turned worse and my laptop now reads "missing operating system" after the boot screen...
I honestly don't know what to do to resolve the issue... I can enter the boot screen and have the options of:
F1 system information
F2 system diagnostics
F7 HP SpareKey
F9 Boot Device Options
F10 Boot Setup
F12 Network Boot
Enter - Continue Setup (just brings up the missing operating system message once again)
I appreciate any help you guys could give me! Cheers

The only fix I've seen so far is a clean install which is no good since you have to do the upgrade and activate before you can do a clean install. If not you will not be able to activate Win 10.

One way around this maybe to save your data then clean install Windows 7 or 8.1, whichever one you started with.

For 7, install  SP1 then try the upgrade to Windows 10.

For 8.1 install Update 1 then upgrade to Windows 10.

I recommend you get the ISO using MediaCreationTool. Windows 10 ISO Download

Then see here for upgrade instructions: Windows 10 Upgrade Installation
