WD External Hard Drive Loading & Nothing Happen

i plugged in my 2TB WD My Passport external hard drive and it shows the Local Drive (H) but it will hanging there for a long time.. and the whole pc will starting to lag or something.. even i force restart the pc with the drive still plugged in.. the window 8 wont load at all until i plug off the hard drive and everything back to normal. how could i save the file inside?

Hello  Wayne85 :welcome:,

 

I suggest you to run chkdsk when your hard disk plugged in on safe mode with command prompt...

 

Run chkdsk

 

Also try to run sfc /scannow in command prompt and run it in administrator account!
