Hi guys, Im building a new gaming rig as my old one died on me quite some time ago. ( http://www.geekstogo...tely-shuts-off/ )
What I need the system to do:
Able to multi task (Stream + record + music playing + around 4-5 web browser tabs) efficiently and alt tab between games with no lag at all. Games I usually play are but not limited to (Tera rising, League of legends, CS go, Dota 2, Rust, Path of exile, Hawken, Starcraft 2, Planetside 2, Company of heroes 2)
Able to handle video editing, photo editing, streaming and recording at 1080p without frame drops at max graphics. (Games I usually play such as Tera, Starcraft 2, League of legends and etc)
Parts I have chosen for future upgrades as well as to last me for at least 6 - 7 years (maybe only upgrading GPU, Storage and RAM):
CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor
Heatsink: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
Mobo: ASRock Fatal1ty Z97 Killer ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
Ram: Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory
Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive + Western Digital BLACK SERIES 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Video Card: Please suggest me one.
Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro ATX Full Tower Case
PSU: Corsair 860W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply
Case fans: Corsair Air Series SP120 High Performance Edition (2-Pack) 62.7 CFM 120mm Fans (2 at HDD)
Corsair Air Series SP120 High Performance Edition (2-Pack) 62.7 CFM 120mm Fans (2 at top)
Corsair Air Series AF140 Quiet Edition 67.8 CFM 140mm Fan (1 at bottom)
Corsair Air Series AF140 Quiet Edition 67.8 CFM 140mm Fan (1 at rear)
What I will be doing is buying parts by parts as I do not have the budget to buy all at once.
For this month, I will be getting the PSU + Case first.
Next month (September) would be the Storage.
Next next month (Late October) I would be getting the mobo + CPU hoping for some price drop when skylake comes out.
Once I got the mobo + CPU + PSU + Case + storage(SSD and HDD), I would be using my current Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory to play League of legends and non demanding game using the I7 4790k Integrated graphics or using my current Asus GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1GB Video Card
Once I have enough money, I would get the 16 gb RAM and a graphics card which I have not decided on which one I want to get.
I am getting there! Once again, when I have enough money again, I would be getting the heat sink and the case fans to start overclocking my CPU and complete my computer build.
Let me explain how I chose the sequence to buy the parts. I live in Singapore and I really do not want to spend more than $2000 SGD (My currency) on the computer, I can fork out maybe $100 - $200 sgd this month and maybe ask for $200 sgd from my parents now thus I chose to get the PSU + Case first
[Phanteks Enthoo Pro ATX Full Tower Case + Corsair 860W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply]
(Avg price check, http://www.mynextcom...s-black-bundle/) about $436 sgd (My currency)
Next month (September) I will try to ask my parents for another $200 and with savings, get the storage
[Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive + Western Digital BLACK SERIES 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive].
(Avg price check, http://www.mynextcom...o-250gb-bundle/) about $260 sgd (My currency)
I would be graduating in 12th october (My last exam) from secondary school. Which means after my last paper, I would be able to work. thus with a part time job and some from my parents, I should be able to get the Cpu + mobo
[Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor + ASRock Fatal1ty Z97 Killer ATX LGA1150 Motherboard]
(Avg price check, http://www.mynextcom...-killer-bundle/) about $706 sgd (My currency)
November, If I can afford it I will get a GPU, if not I would save up and stick to my Asus GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1GB Video Card and just play and record non demanding games such as League of legends.
December, I should be able to get myself maybe the Gtx 970 gen graphics card to start playing games I want to play.
After the main parts are complete, I will just save up here and there to get better ram, better heatsink, more case fans and my computer would be complete.
