Been getting ads by AdChoices. They seem to be on every page I visit. How can I stop them. I just upgraded to Windows 10. Was using Firefox that has AdBlock edge. But Win 10s Microsoft Edge doesn't seem to support it yet

Anyone, Somebody?

Hi first I will need a look see

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them. Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.
  • Right click to run as administrator (XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File). When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Select additions at the bottom
  • Press Scan button.
    frst.JPG
  • It will produce a log called FRST.txt in the same directory the tool is run from.
  • Please attach both logs generated.

Which browser does it appear in Edge, IE, Firefox or all of them
Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode onto your desktop.
  • Close all open programs and internet browsers.
  • Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.
  • Click on Scan.
  • After the scan is complete click on "Clean"
  • Confirm each time with Ok.
  • Your computer will be rebooted automatically. A text file will open after the restart.
  • Please post the content of that logfile with your next answer.
  • You can find the logfile at C:\AdwCleaner[S0].txt as well.

You've seen AdChoices I'm sure. Firefox had adBlock and I never use IE except when fire fox acts up and needs to be re-installed. I just upgraded to Windows 10, IE 11 and now fire fox does not work correctly. But Microsoft Edge is where AdChoices is showing up. Seems it does not support AdBlock yet. (scan to follow)

OK understood, the problem is that Edge is so new that none of our tools yet look in that area and we do not yet have a handle on where the files are for that browser
The main system folder is here C:\Windows\SystemApps\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwebut where the other elements are we are not sure

Actually I have never seen adchoices :) I will ask around to see if anyone has yet located this in Edge

The general concensus at this stage it that the ads are being generated by the website as Edge does not yet allow any addons or extensions hence, it cannot get infected

As both IE and FF are showing clean I would tend to agree with this
