Hi,

I suspect that your Windows have some bad permissions set on the files! Try this:

Download Windows Repair (All-in-One) Portable (use the Direct Download button)
  • extract the tweaking.com_windows_repair_aio.zip to c:\Windows\TEMP the zip will extract to a folder called Tweaking.com - Windows Repair
  • execute the file Repair_Windows.exe from the Tweaking.com - Windows Repair folder
  • click on the tab Step 5: Backup and on the buttons:
    • Backup to create a Registry Backup
    • Create to create a System Restore Point
  • click on the tab Repairs, next click the Open Repairs button to access the following screen:

    WindowsRepair.png
  • click the button Unselect All
  • check the following box's:
    • 01 - Reset File Permissions
    • 02.01 - Reset File Permissions C:\
  • check the box Restart/Shutdown System When Finished > tick Restart System
  • click the Start Repairs button

Hi

I have done that (although I had actually used this tool before I initially got in touch) and the message I get now is posted below.

Thanks for your patience

  C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\root\office15\EXCEL.EXE

The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable

Hi,

It seems the Excel executable file is corrupt you need to do a Repair https://support.micr...n-us/kb/2769349of the Office Installation.

After this tell me if you can run Excel or if you get the same error.

Hi

Thanks for your continued attempts.

I had already done this but did both repairs again and the messages i get reverted back to the original errors.

We're sorry but excel/word has run into aqn error that is preventing it from working correctly. Excel/Word will need to be closed as a result. Would you like us to repair now. When I click on 'Repair now' it just closes.

Hi

I am not sure if this is relevant. I had Office 2010 Professional Plus installed but since I now use 1013 I uninstalled it. Would it be possible that at the same time some files that were necessary to the correct operation of Office were deleted. I am not sure of the timing so unsure if it was before of after I started to receive these error messages. I have a feeling it was afterwards I uninstalled although not 100& certain.

Log Attached as requested.

Hi,

Run an SFC scan like you did before and tell me if it reports errors or not.

Hi,

In my opinion with everything we tried the problem should have been fixed by now!

I advise you to start a new topic in the Virus Spyware, and Malware removal forum following the steps from this page (start from Step 2) to have the computer checked for Malware.

After you get a clean bill of health you can return to this thread if the problem hasn't gone.

I have faced a lot of problems with office 2013 as well.

Just a couple weeks back i switched to kingsoft's wps office & believe me its the same as Ms office with faster and reliable program.

I have all features on word powerpoint sheets.
