What is this called, and how do I fix it?

Hi  It seems similar to this one: The narrow part is the one that fits into the connector then the lock mechanism should work like the yellow arrow on the image. Go to the full post »

This white thing popped out, and I can't remember the orientation or how to put it back together. What is it called? How do I put it back together? The answer to either question would be spectacular.

Thanks!

it's the locking hinge to hold the flex cable in the slot, they should hing up (or maybe pull out, push in to lock.)  you slide the cable in when open and then push it down to lock the cable in place.

can you put it back together? depends, probably not if it's broken, so you may have to use other methods of holding the cable in the slot, like non condutive tape or hot glue.

see if these google searches give you some ideas.
