for my video card: NX6800GT-T2D256E MSI Geforce 6800GT

Ok, so when I install drivers from the CD or from nvidia website, and then restart. It says power indicator warning. lowering graphics card settings or something. every thing is all choppy the mouse jumps around. and also i get a rundll error something about nvsomething. it so choppy i cant do anything.

if i uninstall the video card drivers [ in safe mode by the way ] restart and then reinstall the drivers but dont restart. everything is fine. 100 frames in cs 1.6 owning heads all day. but if i restart it does the same thing all over again. any suggestions?

I and welcome to Geeks to Go. You could try cleaning with Driver Cleaner. Go to http://www.drivercleaner.net/ and download Driver Cleaner (it is free). Make sure you have the current driver for your video card. Then go to add/remove programs and delete the currently installed video driver. Then boot into safe mode and run Driver Cleaner TWICE, each time deleting all that it finds. Then re-boot and install the current driver.
