Computer Freezes after Opening Internet or other program

Hello,

 

My PC freezes each time I turn it on and open a Microsoft word, excel, internet explorer, etc.  It works for about a minute, then freezes to the point I have to kill the power to the entire system.  Please help.  Thanks, Dan
