Hi,

I have an Acer Aspire 5750G laptop. I took up the option to upgrade to Windows 10, which looked fine until I realised my dvd player was no longer available, and could not be found.  After seeking 3 days of help, I became quite concerned if I need to do a restore from cd's I was in real trouble.  I tried everything, including the down loading of the latest drives, but to no avail, so I thought my best option was to restore back to my original Windows 7 hoping this would solve my problem, but how wrong I was.  It was still all missing. So far no one has been able to help.  I did go out and purchase an external dvd player, which you will see in my attachments. I would still love to get my real dvd player back please.  I have tracked down all the relevant files, I think, which I located under Device Manger, view hidden files, and I can see there are problems.  All the drivers point back to C:\windows\system32, if that is of any assistance. I sure would appreciate your assistance.

Did you restart your pc?

In BIOS did you have cd-dvd option in booting?

Yes I did, Dashing Star, but I don't understand your second part of the question, not that "up with it".  Could you please explain further.

Did you have a look at my attachments, especially re my DVD Player. Those markings look very strange against all the drivers, etc.

You connect the USB cd-drive right? that what i see in the device manager!

I tell you to disconnect the External cd-drive and restart the pc, and then enter into BIOS. If you able, then post the image of BIOS screen of booting order

Dashing Star, I am referring to the No Plug and Player driver, and all 50 files/drivers below that with the brown colored marking.  Would you be able to tell me what that means and why it is there and how that can be fixed please.  Also, the Teredo Tunneling Adapter has a triangle with a yellow exclamation mark in it, and I opened the driver for you which says Code 10 this device cannot start.  This driver also refers to Windows\System32\Drivers\Tunnel.Sys.  Can this adapter be affecting my DVD?

These are drivers installed by the software you are using on your computer.

 

Here there’s a very long list of drivers for things such as the system beep, drivers for your sound card, "drivers" for the Windows Firewall, virtual machine drivers, etc.

 

 

 

Teredo tunneling is a transition technology that gives full IPv6 connectivity for IPv6-capable hosts which are on the IPv4 Internet but which have no direct native connection to an IPv6 network. At the moment most home systems connected to the internet do not have native IPv6 connectivity and as more websites move to the new system teredo tunneling needs to be used so our IPv4 sytsems can have access and process IPv6 address data.
The limitations of IPv4 mean that over the next few years the world would run out of new internet addresses so hence the move to IPv6. Teredo tunneling is intended to be only a temporary measure: in the long term, all IPv6 hosts should use native IPv6 connectivity. ISP's have a lot of work to do still before this becomes reality though.
The reality is that at the moment you can get away without it. I have IPv6 disabled on my network to avoid confusion with legacy machine equipment, I've never missed it in the slightest... Not saying this won't change in the future though.

 

So it doesn't connection with your CD-Drive.
