What I thought was because of plugging in my charger and unplugging it, I think is actually because my disc usage tends to reach 100% a lot. I had Photoshop CS6 Extended open, and I was downloading a game from Steam, with Malwarebytes also open in the background. I have 16gb of memory and I'm not sure why the disc usage reaches 100% a lot. Also, my fans run fairly loud during this.

EDIT: I'm starting to think it's how hot the CPU temperature gets. Sometimes it gets to near 103c and then falls to around 57-58C. I have a Intel Core i7-5700HQ and NVIDIA GTX 970M by the way. I don't think anything except over the top games should cause that, so how can I fix this from randomly happening?!

EDIT 2: I noticed that my shift mode was on Sport Mode, which overclocks the CPU and GPU and activates Cooler Boost.. The temperature can still go near 70-90C..

Any help is appreciated!

I got my laptop last friday from Computer Upgrade King on Amazon. (MSI GT72 2QD Dominator) I like how the laptop looks, and the specs. But I hate how hot the CPU temperature gets, how the disk usage occasionally gets to 100%, and the fan noise that is beyond annoying and not tolerable.

My CPU temperatures range from 70C, all the way up to 103C. They are usually high when first starting up my laptop and take awhile to lower by even a little. (It's constantly running at around 3.11 GHZ in Task Manager.. Shouldn't it runner lower and only at this GHZ when I ACTUALLY NEED IT TO?) Also, downloading simple things like a ZIP file, to downloading a game cause it to get near 100C.. Ridiculous.

The fan speeds can reach 2042 RPM all the way up to around 3500 RPM.. (Mostly the Fan 1 speed) It doesn't even seem like the Cooler Boost option helps it at all.

I really don't want this to keep happening, as I want the laptop to last.. and not have constant headaches from the fan noise.

I also think that whenever the CPU gets too hot, or the disk usage is at 100%, that the computer shuts itself down or restarts. I had a lot of restarts the day I first got it, probably around 7 or 8..

Google Chrome, Malwarebytes, SearchProtocolHost and SearchIndexer all contribute to the high disk usage I believe.

I hope you guys are able to help me. I tried contacting MSI on the phone and it's very hard to understand what they are saying, and they are no help anyway. One of them wasted my time asking for information and then just suggested I email the people that I got it from. The other person said something about emailing something to me (couldn't even understand him), and he must've asked for me to repeat my address about 3 times before I couldn't take it and hanged up. (the first person could hear and understand me, while this guy said that I kept breaking up..)

I also must've tried about 15 times now to email them ever since I got it, but not once have I gotten a reply, or even a [bleep] confirmation email.

Sigh. I shouldn't have these problems out of the box. I just want to enjoy this laptop but all it's been is a pain in the [bleep]. Great specs, sure. But laptop performance on the other hand..

Here is a picture of the processes when starting up my laptop. It does this as soon as it starts up, then settles down. (but not for long, playing videos or downloading stuff makes it get hot, up too 100-103C) Pathetic and annoying as [bleep].
