Last week, I upgraded to W10, without being notified. It went ok but my network adapter did not work in W10. So, after a few days of trying to fix the problem without success. I decided to downgrade back to W8.1 64. I needed to be back online to pay my bills. I also thought that if I wait a little longer to reinstall W10 maybe my network adapter problem might be resolved. Now back in W8.1, everything is working fine including my network adapter driver. However, I did notice that i still have the little white Microsoft logo in my task bar. Does this mean that I could be able to reinstall W10 using the windows update, if notified? If so, how does it affect reinstalling W10 using the windows update? If I already have upgraded and downgraded back to W8.1 64. I know that somewhere in my pc I still have W10 so it can be reinstalled. my thinking is that maybe if I reinstall W10 using the windows update. I won't have the problems with my network adapter like I did the first time in W10.

Thank You

I think you mention this one,

That icon will likely download Windows 10 when it becomes available. It can also help you check your PC’s compatibility for Windows 10:)

I suggest you look for suitable drivers available at your pc manufacturer website for windows 10 and then jump into installing windows 10. The free upgrade will be available upto July 29,2016. No worries. ;)

Well, if u upgraded to Windows 10 and ur PC got 'Activated' then ur all good. Now that u downgraded back to ur original Win8.1, there is no rush for u to get Win 10, the July 2016 wont apply to u as ur machine hardware I.D. & ur product code is safely in Microsoft's servers & u can upgrade or fresh install Win10 from an .iso anytime & u will always get activated automatically.

If u don't mind 8.1 and its working good, stick to it a while longer, just til more drivers for ur PC gets 'windows 10 ready'.

Me, i love windows 10, way better than 8/8.1. I'll never go back... good luck
