Who can help me? My computer screen shows gibbish and the mouse is frozen for no reason. Only one small program is open in the time and my computer shut down once by itself. I have the feeling the computer is too slow. I use only 30% of the memory and do regularly defrag. Symantec Anti Virus and Firewall are updated and show no thread. I suspect problems with the motherboard, because of one short time blackout( energy). What else can be the problem and how can I test it?
Does anyone have ideas. I appreciate your help.

OK, when does the screen show giberish? right after you open a certain program, after boot up, what? And this "short time black out" you were talking about, are you refering to a power outage, a power surge, what? Also, if you wouldn't mind posting your computer specs, such as what brand motherboard, what brand and how much RAM you have installed, etc.
