Lately, My computer has been:

  • freezing up
  • crashing; blue screen of death
  • running programs slowly - especially dreamweaver and photoshop
(but my sony vegas video program is running fine - if the computer doesn't crash)

I ran malewarebytes and MS Security Essentials - both came up clean.

I ran a disc check and everything checked out fine.

I switched out the memory; no noticeable change.

Can any one help me with logs to help determine what is wrong?

I've attached a screen shot of the system info for a start.

TIA,

Greg

OK - this is a different computer. That other topic is for my daughter's laptop.

This one actually has priority; my work relies on this computer.

Greg, can you zip any .dmp files in C:\Windows\minidump then upload and attach the zip file here. I'll look at them and see if they show what is causing the BSODs.

Also, install and run the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT): See here What is the System Update Readiness Tool?

Then:

Click on the Start button and type cmd.
DO NOT press Enter or click Go.
Look at the upper part of the window and you will see cmd.exe.
Right click on it and select Run as Administrator.

Type SFC /scannow and press Enter. See if the Component store problems are fixed. Run 2-3 times if necessary.

OK - I'm downloading and running the SURT program now... there was just one file in the Minidump directory. It is attached to this post.

I'll be back with results when I've completed the "to do" you've posted.

Thank you so much for the quick response!

OK - new update...

(and I'm finally getting to my daughter's laptop as well - but more on that post for that :prop: )

This morning, starting up my computer, the blue screen error was:

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Also, there is an audio "pop" on the speakers when the screen is showing the windows logo at start up - it happens just once, and then the screen goes to the login.

any help?

P.S. I was watching a video for how to uninstall video drivers (for my daughter's laptop) and then gentleman doing the video said that Driver Sweep is a great program for finding outdated and unused drivers that have collected. Should I run this program on my computer and my daughter's? greg

The dump last minidump.zip file you up loaded is messed up, completely screws up WinDBG.

Can you upload the last few .dmp files again please.

The last dump shows mouclass.dll which is a Windows OS file.

This is what I found about it.  http://www.file.net/...uclass.sys.html

Have you done all your anti-virus scans and malwarebytes scans?

Give Driver Sweeper a try, can't hurt. It's been awhile since I used it so I don't remember much about it or how well it worked.

Also make sure you have your system backed up, either an image backup to an external hard drive or at least your data backed up to a flash drive.

Once you have that think about doing a Clean Install and starting over again.
