Hello dusty pink,

Here is the quote from microsoft forum solution for long running script,

Steps:

  • Open Internet Explorer and press ok to all script error messages if there are any.
  • Go to the Tools Menu and click Internet Options.
  • Click on the Advanced tab at the top of the Internet Options window.
  • Under Settings, scroll down to the Browsing section and check the 3rd (Disable script debugging (Internet Explorer)) and4th (Disable script debugging (other)) items, and uncheck the 5th item ("Display a notification about every script error").

If you are using any tracking protection lists, try running Internet Explorer with them disabled.

  • Go to the Tools Menu and click Manage add-ons.
  • On the left, click Tracking Protection.
  • Highlight all items and click the Disable all button.

Regards  :)
