That's good.  I deleted the restore points.  I really think we need to figure out this permissions thing though.  I tried to delete the c:\FRST directory and it gave me the same error:  "Folder access denied.  You need permission to perform this action. You require permission from Administrators to make changes to this folder." No matter what I do, it won't let me delete it or some other folder/files.

I tried both suggestions on that page and now I get pretty much the same error when I try to delete the folder.  Except this time it says "You require permission from CHRISTIANDESKPC\Christian to make changes to this folder"  This is very frustrating as you can imagine.

Suspect you didn't give yourself Full Control after taking ownership.  Go back in and select Properties, Security then your login and make sure it has Full Control.

I see some of my colleagues are using delfix to remove their tools.  Let's see if it will work for you:

You have to be careful that you get the correct Download button.  It's the Green one that says:

 

Download Now @ BleepingComputer

 

Right click and Run As Admin.

 

Just check the second option: Remove Disinfection Tools then Run.

everything appears to be back to normal now.  I followed your latest instructions.  I am able to delete the folders that I want and I was unable to uninstall AVG and install Avira with no problem.  I want to thank you for your time and help through this.  Thank you very much.  Let me know if there is anything else I need to to do before you close this thread.  -Nate
