Help!  My laptop must be infected with some malware.  I always run the Norton Security Suite, but my machine still seems to have been infected.  When I run a scan now, Norton reports that I do not have any risks.  I have also run the Norton Power Eraser with no risks reported.  

 

My hard drive has a capacity of 1.34 TB.  I currently have 2.73 GB of free space after I deleted some files.  I have been down to less than 100 MB of free space.

 

During a Norton scan on 9/27/15, a Trojan.Zbot virus was detected and quarantined.  If the malware has actually been contained, then I need to know how to recover the unused space.  

 

I am attaching the results of the FRST scan.

Please download and install WinDirStat.

• Click on the desktop icon to run the program.
• Click on Individual Drives and then click on C: (or whichever drive is your Main Drive)
• Click on OK
• When the pacmen have finished there will be a graphic display of your drive]
• Place your cursor on the divider line between the text above and the color graph below and drag downwards to expand the upper portion of the resultant image produced
• Please create a screen shot and attach or upload the image to your next post so I can have a look

It will look something like this

Thank you to Essexboy for the response.  I thought that my issue started after I set up the Norton Security Suite to do automatic backups.  I called Norton and they confirmed that their backup was making multiple copies of my files - until all of my c: drive was used!   I have deleted all of their backup files from my c: drive and will now run the back up to an external drive. 

 

 

Norton 360 Out of Backup Space

I am running Norton 360 6.0 with Windows 7.0 and a 1.0 TB internal backup hard drive.  I have approximately 80 GB of pictures and 38 GB of music and 110 GB of documents that are the bulk of what I back up, but Norton 360 Backup is saying that the drive is almost full. It seems like everytime I make a slight change to a file, Norton creates a new copy, and there must be multiple copies of the same file if 240 GB of data are taking up almost 1 TB of backup space.  How do I delete all of the Norton backup files and start fresh with a new back up.

Unfortunately N 360 backup does seem to add one backup on top of the other on some occasions and that is what seems to have happened in your case.
