I returned my Asus x751lx-db71 today because it gave me weird performance issues while playing rhythm games that should have been silky smooth on a rig like that. One of the main ones is K-Shoot Mania. Anyways, the game held a nice level ground at around 120fps, yet I was still getting weird stuttering. The stutters laster about .2 seconds, and occurred as frequently as every 5 seconds, yet I could sometimes have a session completely free of them. I spent two weeks troubleshooting the issue and tried everything from altering in game settings to closing and pausing background processes, etc. None of these things seemed to make a difference. So now I ask- is this likely a problem isolated to a particular model of laptop, or would it be safe to repurchase the same one and expect different results. A friend of mine is using an older laptop with an inferior graphics card and running the game flawlessly, so power shouldn't be the issue. Any suggestions or help would be great. I just don't want to have the same problem twice.
