Good choice, you can always add an additional HDD in the future should you need to.

 

When you do the fresh installation of Windows 7 I would suggest that you create a separate 150GB partition for it, this will speed up your boot times and help to protect Windows from becoming corrupted.

Hey...

Need help. Bought the HDD.

Installed windows and programs(Check speccy below).
Tested a game that I play on ultra with like 150 fps. I had like 40 now and even less. And one more thing: I wasn't able to do windows update.(I firstly used win 7 unlocker that added plenty of crappy programs and so). So I thought it messed it up. Then I did a clean reinstall, installed the main programs such as java/adobe flash/amd/gpu driver and it was checking for like 30 mins and popped up an error 80244019.
I also thought maybe Win 7 without any updates wasn't compatible with the size of 1TB. The previous was just 160GB. Now I made System 150 GB© and normal 800GB+ (D).  Made 3rd reinstall. Installed just my etherned driver and instantly tried with the Windwos Update. Infinite loading. Can my flash be messing up or the HDD kinda broken? But would it even install then? I just switched to my old HDD and the performance is nice again, no problems. (In the 160 HDD I used the same OS from the flash....)
Should I even waste my time or simply download some Win 8.1...
P.S. Yes I used the driver booster, thought maybe I skipped something. Was still the same.

To see if this is a Windows issue download then run the All in One Repair from here, disregard the malware guidance but follow the other steps to the letter and in particular ensuring that you first create a new restore point and perform a proper Windows clean boot before running the repair, details for the clean boot here.

Couple of suggestions;

 

Create a new restore point.

Install all important Windows 8.1 updates.

Enable Windows Auto Updates.

Download MBAM (Free) and run it every now and then.

Get rid of the following scheduled updates.

Hey there, it has been a while. So the new HDD is running well as it seems.
I've downloaded the MBAM
Did all the Win updates

But how do I remove scheduled updates? I think I disabled the Flash player one, not sure about K-lite.

I bought a 500W PSU silver rated not a while ago. For my system will be enough as it seems. Better than a cheap 700W for 70$ I think. Pretty much paid that for the 500W one I got now.

Windows Control Panel > System & Security > Administrative Tools > Schedule Tasks > Task Scheduler Library, manually set it to never for K-lite.
