My laptop runs on vista. All was well until, for no apparent reason everything I tried to download, failed! The text reads: download failed virus detected. I have run a scan on windows defender which indicates everything is OK. I have run a microsoft fixit program which also indicates all is OK. I have also heard that add-ons on chrome can cause issues so I cleared all add ons. Still no luck!! Can anyone help?

Go to the Virus, Spyware, Malware Removal forum, read the first post and follow instructions.
Come back here once you get a clean bill of health if you still have problems.
