Test the HDD first as it does not take as long as testing the Ram;

Run the HDDs diagnostics tool;
Make sure you select the tool that is appropriate for the brand of your hard drive http://www.tacktech....ay.cfm?ttid=287 if unsure of your brand of drive use Seatools as it works well with many other brands, short test first and then the extended test.
Depending on the program it'll create a bootable floppy or a bootable DVD/CD.
If the downloaded file is the .iso type use ImgBurn: http://www.imgburn.com/ to burn the .iso file to a DVD/CD disk depending on your OS (select "Write image file to disc" option) and make the disk bootable.

RE ImgBurn: please use the custom install and uncheck the attached foistware such as "Install Entrusted Toolbar etc

No worries we understand that you have other things to attend to  :thumbsup:

Good news on the HDDs at least.

Testing the Ram is best done overnight as it can be rather long winded, please refer to my canned text below and the Memtest86+ tutorial here provided courtesy of rev_olie

How to physically test your Ram.

The following checks require the computer case to be opened so take the following safety precautions 1st, disconnect the power cord from the wall socket  and take anti static precautions before touching anything inside, you can do this by touching a bare metal part of the case.

Have a pencil and notepad to hand.

Remove each stick of Ram and blow out the memory slots.

Insert the first stick of Ram in memory slot one, reconnect the power and in the case of a desktop computer the video to screen cable.

Power up the computer and see how it goes.

Make a note of the results.

Repeat the procedure until the first stick of Ram has been tested in each memory slot and the results written down.

Remove the first stick of Ram and put it to one side on top of a piece of paper with the number one on it for identification purposes.

Repeat the procedure with all Ram until each stick has been tested in all slots, the results written down and the sticks identified numerically.

Please note that some MBs (motherboards) will not boot unless there is Ram in slot one so please provide us with your motherboard details, brand, model name/number and any revision number, these details may be found by the CPU, between the PCI slots and/or around the edge of the motherboard, once we have the MB details we can look for the user manual.

When I removed the 2nd RAM stick and kept the first in it's original slot, a different bsod appeared for a brief moment.
It is listed in the zip file.

Freezes still occurred.
Will start memtest now.

We will need to wait on the outcome of the physical/Memtest86+ testing as the latest dump does not point directly towards anything, it could be memory or CPU related as one could be tripping the other one up, see below;

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (a)
An attempt was made to access a pageable (or completely invalid) address at an
interrupt request level (IRQL) that is too high.  This is usually
caused by drivers using improper addresses.
If a kernel debugger is available get the stack backtrace.
Arguments:
Arg1: 01d130dd, memory referenced
Arg2: 000000ff, IRQL
Arg3: 00000000, bitfield :
bit 0 : value 0 = read operation, 1 = write operation
bit 3 : value 0 = not an execute operation, 1 = execute operation (only on chips which support this level of status)
Arg4: 82cf85d6, address which referenced memory

I am leaning more towards a flaky CPU atm.

I ran the memtest on first stick of RAM for 3 passes, no errors,  the second ran during the night for 7 passes and no errors.

HDD and Ram now effectively ruled out, if I have the correct MB specs it has an integrated video port, if that is correct, before looking at the CPU any further for the moment can I ask you to remove the add on video card and test, this to rule in or out another component as the cause.

So you have removed the video card - connected to the MBs video port and the behaviour is the same.

Yes, that is true. The freezes occurred with the internal, built-in video port while the external GPU was removed.

Looking more and more like there is an issue with the CPU or its socket  :(

Three rolls of the dice left  before having a local tech or tech store take a look I'm afraid, you will need to make the decision on which way you want to go with the last two options, can you first of all confirm if the board here is the one that you are working with.

Please leave the add on video card out of the system for now**

Download and run the Utility Version 2.0.6.8 which you can get from here what it does below;

Description • Key components status hardware monitor
• Monitor the CPU status
• D.O.T. Technology up to 12% improvement
• Optimize System status define
• Adjustable & monitor with "Dual CoreCenter" on windows system
• Auto speed up with system loading change
• 5 environment mode and 3 user define mode
• Combine with VGA CoreCell 3D, totally called "Dual CoreCell"
**If you are using an ATI graphic card, you must install ver. 8.41 driver and its additional applications to make Dual CoreCenter works normally. It is better to use recommended installation while installing an ATI VGA driver. Note 1. To use Dual Core Center in XP/2000 must first install Dot Net Frame Work 2.0.
2. Green Power Center will not operate normally under overclocking environment.

Post back with an update once you have run the software.

Well I have installed it and opened it, should I do anything more? There are some options to overclock etc..

It didn't resolve the freezing issue.

It is not intended to resolve the freezing but hopefully to identify if there is an issue with the CPU.

Look for an option to monitor the CPUs status.
