I just downloaded the Abyss Web Server to host my own sites. I got tired of searching for reliable free hosts with the things I needed. It's not going to be a big site, but I would like to know what safety precautions I should take.

Since this is not going to be a popular site (I just need to host a few things for myself and some friends), are the chances of getting hacked (and things like that) lower?

I'm new to this stuff, so any additional information will be much appreciated.

There's risk in using ANY Web Server, so I did a little googling and found these sites: http://www.w3.org/Se...Faq/wwwsf3.html

Hope this helps!
