My computer was infected with so many malicious Trojans and malware that I had to have someone reinstall windows 7.  I was using MSE and always kept it up to date.  I don't want to use MSE anymore and now that I have my computer clean I need some help in keeping it that way.

I've researched this website and been told different things by friends that I'm extremely confused.

I'm running windows 7 and use Chrome Browser.  Would I be better off buying a anti virus protection or using one of the free ones.  I've been looking at Panda as a free one. PC world gives it good marks.

Thanks for any help, I can't use my computer until I get some protection on here.

Hello,
Lisa

The best Anti Virus is the one you're most comfortable with using, try Panda for a while and see what you think.

Great Thank you! I've noticed that most of the forums that talk about antivirus are pretty old.

Or Avast Free Antivirus if you want there is a 1 year free license to all users. Avast is used by 1.5 million users worldwide and is topped in the #3 of the Antivirus results list.

Might consider a light AV, with white listing technology. With this program, everything you download is auto scanned at Virus Total. When/if yo install, decline the offline AV, it is ClamAV not very good.
