I'm helping out on a friend's computer and they have left it completely unprotected. I don't know how many things they have, but I do know Aurora is one of them. I may have gotten rid of it by using some of the advice that I've seen other users get. The problem is that there's still popups. Here's the HijackThis Log:

Hello, it is important you follow all my steps, because this is with a reason I let you perform this.

Go via start > control panel > software > add/remove programs and uninstall next if present:

WinTools
WebSearch Toolbar
Viewpoint Manager
Web_Rebates
Media Access
Web Offer
Sf
SurfSideKick 3
Party Poker

REBOOT afterwards.

Download the latest version of Ad-Aware:
http://www.lavasoft....pport/download/

After installing AAW, and before running the program.
Please be sure to update the reference file following the instructions here:
http://www.lavahelp.net/howto/updref/

Reconfigure Ad-Aware for Full Scan:

Launch the program, and click on the Gear at the top of the start screen.

Click the 'Scanning' button.
Under Drives, Folders and Files, select 'Scan within Archives'.
Click 'Click here to select Drives + folders' and select your installed hard drives.

Under Memory & Registry, select all options.
Click the 'Advanced' button.
Under 'Log-file detail level', select all options.
Click the 'Tweaks' button.

Under 'Scanning Engine', select the following:
'Unload recognized processes during scanning.'
Under 'Cleaning Engine', select the following:
'Let Windows remove files in use after reboot.'
Click on 'Proceed' to save these Preferences.

Run the Ad-Aware scan and allow it to remove everything it finds and then REBOOT to allow it to finish.

Open notepad and copy and paste next bold in it:

regedit /e search.txt "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Explorer\Run"
type search.txt>>look.txt
del search.txt
dir %SystemDrive%\*ndw30103lib.dll /a h /s >> look.txt
start notepad look.txt

Save this as look.bat
Choose to save as all files and place it on your desktop.
Now doubleclick on look.bat and it will scan.
Notepad will open afterwards with some txt in it, so copy and paste this in your next reply together with a new hijackthislog.

I didn't find all of those programs, but I uninstalled the ones that I found.
Regedit huh? Alright, I did that and it looks like everything went well:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Explorer\Run]
"yktj"="C:\\WINDOWS\\System32\\yktj.exe"

Volume in drive C has no label.
Volume Serial Number is 3857-5E2B

Directory of C:\WINDOWS\system32

05/22/2005 04:40 PM 49,152 xofoclpndw30103lib.dll
1 File(s) 49,152 bytes

Hello,

It's better to print out the next instructions or save it in notepad, because you also have to work in safe mode without networking support, so this page wouldn't be available then.
It is also important you don't miss a step and perform everything in the right order!!

* Download and install CCleaner
Do not use it yet.

* Please set your system to show all files; please see here if you're unsure how to do this.

open notepad and copy and paste next bold in it:
(don't forget to copy and paste REGEDIT4)

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Explorer\Run]
"yktj"=-

Save this as fix.reg Choose to save as *all files and place it on your desktop.
Doubleclick on it and when it asks you if you want to merge the contents to the registry, click yes/ok.

* Start HijackThis, close all open windows leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check against each of the following:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://searchmiracle.com/sp.php
