Hello there, I’m the new one, and I have what I suppose is a pretty special issue. I have a USB modem by the company Option, namely the ICON XY, which worked until just recently, when I upgraded to the latest version of Mac OS (10.11 – El Capitan); i. e. it stopped working with the latest update. Apparently the driver software (called “uCAN Connect”) which came with the modem is too old (it says from 2009 in the info) and I had a talk with the support at Option which told me that they have discontinued this product line quite a while ago, and therefore I can’t expect any support from them.

Now, I really love the modem (hardware) itself for its ability to swing out the USB connector and to therefore save space. I would really like to continue using it, and I have the feeling that it’s only the software that’s the issue. Does anyone know of a driver or whatever connection software that works with this kind of modem on Mac OSX? Or, would it be possible to create or adapt the uCAN Connect software to work with the latest Mac OS version? (I know it’s probably copyrighted and closed-source but it would only be for me and the company has abandoned it anyway)

I would be forever grateful for any hint.
