I have a question that perhaps someone can help me.

When files on pc© are deleted I believe that the files may not appear on computer anymore but a copy is retained deep within the computer.  Now if files are deleted from flash or external drives where do the files go to?

They're actually still there, until they're overwritten by new file(s), or the drive/partition is formatted. You can use Piriform's free "Recuva" to attempt to recover "deleted" files. (Piriform also makes the popular "Ccleaner").

Thanks for the heads-up.  I use both Recuva and CCleaner.

Hi, when we delete files from external hard drive it actually not permanently deleted from the drive even the space occupied by the drive gets empty and the files are still recoverable. I would suggest you to read this blog http://www.stellarin...d-recover-data/to know more about the deleted files recovery from external hard drive.
