Delays are no problem.  I don't keep track.

So the webcam is good and it works well with an Ethernet cable but not with WiFi.

Have you tried:

right click on Computer and select Manage then Device Manager then find the webcam and right click on it and uninstall.  Then reboot.

Any chance of trying it with a USB WiFi adapter?

I tried deleting the webcam from device manager, but it did nothing.

No possibility of trying a usb wifi adapter, sorry.

Can you move the laptop closer to the router?

Have you tried uninstalling the Wifi adapter in Device Manager and rebooting?

You might also try changing the router to use no security or WEP just as a test.  I had an adapter once that would not work reliably on WPA2

I have three network adapters:

Which one should I uninstall? Or just all of them?

Uninstalling the adapters made no difference.

Is there an older driver you can revert the 2nd one back to?

If you can't change the router to use WEP for a test then I think the only thing to do is get a USB WiFi adapter.  They are pretty cheap over here.

I checked and the "roll back driver" option is grayed out, so apparently not.

I'm still at my parents, so the problem is clearly not in the router since I have the same problem here. It's in the laptop. And I can't access the router here, but I'll check if changing the security settings have any effect once I can use my own router again.

I'll be going back to my place in around a week and a half, so if there's nothing else to be done I can get a usb wifi adapter for test.

But would reinstalling Windows 7, for example, be worth a shot? Since my problems started only after I installed Windows 7 over Windows 10, maybe a fresh install would help.

Not saying the router is at fault.  Just saying that some WiFi adapters do no work with WPA as well as they should so as a test try switching the router to use WEP or no encryption.  Change it back to what it was after the test.

Ah I see. I'll try it out once I go back, thanks.
