Hello,…..the reason I ask this.  Is because my wureless connection does not connect to the net in Win10. I’ve tried suggestions to get it working again but none have resolved my problem.  A couple of days ago, I started to tweak the properties of the driver.  Nothing helped until I unchecked the line “anvisoft intrusion detection system” found in ethernet properties>networking.  As soon as I unchecked this square my wireless started to run.  Now, my question is, how important is this for my system to leave it unchecked?  Otherwise, my wireless will not run….

p.s.  I checked two other pc’s and they don’t have this entry in network properties.

and explaining IDS to me.  In addition I would like to know if this is essential for my system or was it installed by a software.  I remember trying a program with the name "Anvisoft".  I guess what I'm asking is. can I leave it unchecked in network properties?  It has been the only solution to my wireless problem, so far.

Yes, you could leave it unchecked in network properties. That's why the option is there. However, before you do that let me try again:

 

A firewall is like having a security guard at your network door, checking the credentials of everyone coming and going.

 

An intrusion-detection system (IDS) is like having a network of sensors inside your network to let you know when someone has slipped past the firewall, where they are and what they're doing.

 

In other words, firewalls only work at the point of entry to the network, and they work only with packets as they pass in and out of the network. Once an attacker has breached the firewall though, he can roam at will through the network. That's where intrusion detection becomes important.

I don't why but every suggestion in fixing my problem has failed.  I do have McCafee firewall and will have to do until I find  a solution for my problem that doesn't not involve IDS.  the only other option I have left is to check windows updates and see if they're the cause of my problem.

Info here on Anvisoft Intrusion Detection. Looks like it's something you should be able to uninstall via Programs and Features in Control Panel.
