Have you tried using a linux CD and test if your CD-ROM works fine there ?

I wanted to try the Dell test again, b/c it sees to have messed up my fonts (they're a little blurry now), and I got some results this time (whereas last time it just ran w/out any info):
NOTE: I didn't have RW CD or DVD. I also don't own any CD-ROMs any longer. In the case of the Audio test, Avast! blocked it, and I didn't click "add an exception" in time. The tray out test doesn't work, b/c there's no tray. For all other tests, I inserted the kinds of discs it requested. The site recommended I try the MS Fix-It, but that's not supported in Win10.
