The user manual for the Asus A8N SLi motherboard gives three examples of power load for light, normal and heavy usage, then suggests what the wattage and 12V current requirement should be.

There's a big difference between them 350W, 400W and 500W. In my planned new system I don't want to get the wrong supply. So is there any way of calculating the maximum power requirement?

Thanks

Hi and welcome to Geeks to Go. Very wise, considering the power requirements before the build instead of trying to figure it out after. The best place for information on power supplies that I have found is at http://www.hardforum...isplay.php?f=93

The have some sticky posts at the top that include some good power calculators and information about graphics card power requirements. Go take a look!
