Need some help. Had to send HP Envy Laptop back to HP due to hard drive issues. They told me they would wipe and restore al programs and pics /docs but I ha a full version of MS Office 2013 on the system at the time of purchase but when they returned it to me everything was fixed but MS office was not there. I had a legitimate copy of MS Office Home and Student with product key and 2 of 3 installs available but when I tried to install on the system it just install correctly it just installed all files on my hard drive, I found the setup.exe file but it did not install any of the programs correctly (they are not on my desktop) so I was wondering if this is a problem with Win 8 and MS 2013 or am I missing something.

Appreciate any feedback.

Hi richiemaguire, firstly before we start on your computer, please edit your user name..... using an email address is likely to involve your inbox being flooded with spam....

There is usually no problem with installing MSOffice on a win 8 computer, so something may be wrong....

 

1 Are you sure that Office did not install properly?

2 When MSoffice installs there are no icons on your desktop ( unless you put them there) although you should be able to find a tile for them or look in your list of programs.

3 Win 8 is basically obsolete and you should consider updating it to Win 8.1 ..... this will also facilitate an update from Win 8.1 to win 10 should you wish to take advanatage of the free upgrade offer from Microsoft.
