Hello Folks,

My Toshiba Laptop which I bought second-hand at a fair has been malfunctioning

but has intensified for about a year now.... sometimes the fan is abnormally noisy

 over-heats and then shuts-down.

At the start every power on this message is constantly there in the cryptic loading

stage;

             ERROR

"Resource Conflict - PCI Serial Bus Controller on Motherboard

             Bus: 0A, Device:04, Function: 01

             ERROR

"Resource Conflict - PCI Mass Storage Controller on Motherboard

             Bus: 0A, Device:04, Function: 02

             ERROR

"Resource Conflict - PCI on Motherboard

            Bus: 0A, Device:04, Function: 03

I have tried every way to install drivers for these devices but it won't simply work...

it was initially running on a Windows Vista OS (as i found out in my research)

Lately it won't load past the Windows7 logo, screen turns blue and long cryptic

messages about a windows inability to load and possible hardware installed

lately be removed.....

Kindly help since I urgently need to be able to at least salvage all my vital stuff

(having lost my 250 Gb External HDD full of Data not long ago... hmmm).

Please Help!!

I would definitely recommend taking it to a specialist if you want to salvage the computer as it sounds like you have some hardware issues. If you're focused on the data and you know how to get the hard drive out then you could just pop it back into a new computer or buy a sata to usb adapter to manually get the data off. Fair warning, you will need to have administrative access (or have access to someone who does) to get into your user files as Windows locks these files unless you're logged into them.

Well this appears to be a sneaky little trick to terrorize people with older operating systems.

ME TOO

My Error Messages are:

Error

Resource Conflict PCI Serial Bus Controller in slot 01 bus: 1A, Device 04, Function: 01

Resource Conflict PCI Serial Bus Controller in slot 01 bus: 1A, Device 04, Function: 02

Resource Conflict PCI Serial Bus Controller in slot 01 bus: 1A, Device 04, Function: 03

Then I get

Windows was unable to install your PCI Memory Controller

Windows was unable to install your SM Bus Controller

No such drivers at Toshiba Support, Microsoft

I believe this error came to us as a result of windows update.

I have restored to the previous Windows Update and the error still comes up

I get two options on startup

F1 allows Windows to load F2 I believe is cancel or something.

Then the laptop looks to no avail for the drivers.

Just started happening. I am so grumpy and believe this is set up for people like me who are satisfied with Vista or Windows 7.

Have you recently installed any new updates, drivers or hardware?
