We have a special program that will remove Farber and most of our other tools which we run once we are sure your system is clean.

 

I don't think the folder you removed was a leftover from Win 8.  In my Win 8 there is a ShellNew folder but it only has journal.jnt in it.

 

 

When did you  delete the Shell folder?  If it was recently your oldest restore point is 12/24  so you could try going back to that one and see if it helps.

 

NirSoft has a nice little program that will tell you if something is missing in your right click menus.  It's called ShellMenuView.

Download ShellMenuView for x64

 

It's a zip file so you need to right click on it and Extract All then right click and Run As Admin on the shmnview64.exe file.  

 

Once it's up you can click on one of the entries then do Edit, Select All then Edit, Copy Selected Items then move to a reply and  Ctrl + v to paste the copied text into a reply.

 

That should allow me to see what is missing.

Sorry I cant see "Download ShellMenuView for x64" on the link page you supplied?

 

No, I cant verify what folder I removed but it had the word "shell menu" in it so I assumed it was related to my old W8 program.

Its all ok now......I dont get it.......alll those programs and spyware/malware/system checks could not solve the problem...I am amazed?

 

I eventually did a system restore and all working now.

We usually clean up with Delfix.  This removes most of our tools and their logs and quarantines and also removes all but the latest System Restore point so there is no chance of the malware coming back with a system restore.  Follow the instructions and ignore the picture since it doesn't show the correct options as checked.

Ensure Remove disinfection tools is ticked

Also tick:

Create registry backup

Purge system restore

 

Click Run

The program will run for a few moments and then notepad will open with a log. Please paste the log in your next reply
