Tried it... No change... It's ok, at least now I know I have tried everything! And I have learnt so much from this! To the point that I think I'll try to build my own computer now! So that's great! Thanks to everyone that helped me and I hope that what we have talked about can help others. Just couse my mobo was dead doesn't mean someone else's will be.

Sorry Giibl3ts,  a dead MB was not a good outcome.   You might risk a second hand board as your other parts are quite good.

http://www.aliexpres...l-xps-8300.html  Because of the Dell mods, you would need the same model board + changing to a different model would cause complications with running the original OS.

 

Yes, with what you have learned and the hands on, you would have no problem building your own rig.   Be happy to configure one for you when you are ready..
