I've been scouring the internet for an application that is simple in nature, but seemingly unavailable.

 

All I need is a continuously running window to convert images to their negative.

 

Basically, I want to mimic the kindle app's function of presenting white text with a black background, but for any type of text I view on my computer (pdfs, word docs, online forums, etc)

 

Anyone know of an existing program or know a way to make my computer run this sort of functionality?

Sounds like you just want one of the High Contrast themes that are already in Windows.  My 93 year old father-in-law uses one.  He also had me put a button on his desktop to revert it back to the regular theme so it doesn't eat up his black ink when he prints.
