After the proposed program folder, compression procedures have been lost incoming emails over the past 2 years. The program is under compression trimmed Inbox.dbx file. The reason is likely that the size of the file exceeded 2G.

The lost information is very important to me.

Are there any ways to restore lost information?

One of the methods offers MS Corp. below. Another method to see and get more solutions to get back corrupted .dbx file

Using the Compacting Utility

To start, follow these steps:

  • In Outlook Express, click Work Offline on the File menu to terminate any transmission
  • In the Folder list, click on Outlook Express to ensure that no email or news folder is opened
  • Close the Folder list by click the X in the upper right-hand corner of the list panel
  • On the File menu, select Folder, and then select Compact All Folders
    This might take several minutes.
  • If an error occurs, close Outlook Express, re-open it, and begin the process again from the top

Using The Transfer Method

To do this, follow these steps:

  • Open Microsoft Outlook Express
  • Right click on Local Folders and select New Folder
  • Type in: backup and hit Enter
  • Select all the emails in the corrupted folder
    • Select any email in the corrupted folder
    • Press CTRL + A to select all
  • Right click on the highlighted mails and select Move To Folder

  • Select the backup folder and click OK
  • Delete the corrupted folder and rename the backup folder to the corrupted folder's name

Hi,liamsmith23,

You need to check if the problem is caused by a corruption of the Outlook Express dbx data file, or caused by other reasons. To do that, you need to do as follows:

1. Locate the dbx file corresponding to your mailbox, by following the instructions below:

https://www.datanume...air/finddbx.htm

2. After locate the dbx file, make sure Outlook Express is closed.

3. Make a backup of the dbx file.

4. Delete the original dbx file.

5. Start Outlook Express, if you still get the same error, then chances are that your installation of Outlook Express is incorrect. You need to uninstall and reinstall Outlook Express. Note Outlook Express is included in IE so you may need to reinstall IE together.

Good luck!
