Hey,

I am 15 at the moment and it won't be long before I have to search for a college and get on with life and stand up for myself, I've seen a lot of successful and experienced people around here at GeeksToGo and I just wanted to ask you if you guys could give me any handy career making tips or tips for going into the area I wish to, you know like the mistakes you made and how I can avoid them and basically be successful.

What I Aspire

Well, I have lofty dreams and sky scraping goals I want to basically be a Developer  (Web + Native), I plan on being an entrepreneur I have ideas for creating phone operating system and a media sharing web + native app.

What i have done is viewed many tutorials from various blogs learning the basics of JavaScript, C ,C#  I know HTML and CSS well enough, and my dream university is Harvard.

So could you recommend some stuff which I should be doing for having better chances of fulfilling my dreams links to tutorials or names of books or general tips would help me a lot.

Hacking and Malware also interest me, Im enrolled in GeekU so I am learning about malware but i fancy learning the trade of an ethical hacker, any tips and preparation guides would be priceless.

Some Questions

1.) I believe I have picked the right language to start with but for doing the above what other things do you think I need to learn?

2.) What is the exact degree which would teach me all the above?

3.) How many hours did you study in a day?

4.) What are the advantages of a career in IT?

5.) Does it pay well?

Thanks in advanced,

(Read name  from top left of this box) :P

Hello,

I'd start out out with a "Computer science degree" from a good school and then branch out from there. You may change your thoughts on what you want to do exactly as you get older, having the degree will open more doors especially from a University such as this. You would look very good on paper to a prospective employer.

This is just one school of many but it's in the top 5 for that type of degree.
School of Computer Science
Carnegie Mellon University: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Take a look at Carnegie and see what they offer, you can use it as a template when looking at different schools. You could transfer to Harvard later and get a business degree there.
