I am buying a newer, faster laptop to be compatible with this Adobe Premiere Pro CC.The minimum system requirements list 'Sound card compatible with ASIO protocol or Microsoft Windows Driver Model' and I have no idea how to go about checking this or finding a laptop with said hardware.

ASIO = Audio Stream Input/Output which is a standard of sound card driver (see here) and the good news is that most if not all good quality MBs have an integrated audio chip that is capable of producing that good of audio quality that it would involve spending an unrealistic amount of cash to get any better.
