I am getting a pop-up window in the bottom right corner of my screen every 4-6 hours of various photos.  Sometimes its little puppies, sometimes its a girl in a bikini or something like that.  If I click on the X to close the window, its spawns 2 web links, one of which usually sends me somewhere saying that my Adobe is out of date and then another is typically some random porn site or site that has some sort of phishing content with a crazy URL.  I have run Kapersky, MalwareBytes, Spybot, and have a corporate Norton System Endpoint Protection forcefully installed by my company.

They've found some things and cleaned them but this one window issue keeps coming up every day, seemingly at random.  I am pasting my Hijack this log below.  Any insight would be appreciated if anyone has any ideas on how to kill this thing.

Hi this sounds like a scheduled task running.. So lets have a look. Hijackthis is no longer relevant for modern infections

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them. Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.
  • Right click to run as administrator (XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File). When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Select additions at the bottom
  • Press Scan button.
    frst.JPG
  • It will produce a log called FRST.txt in the same directory the tool is run from.
  • Please attach both logs generated.

Ok, here are my Farbar attachments from the scan.   Nice quick scan tool.  Hope it helps find the [bleep] thing.  When the window pops up, the header bar of it says "Your music life".  Today it happened twice already and it had an image of kittens.

Ok, I ran the ADWCleaner.  I see it didn't delete some folders related to Mobogenie and Systweak.  Should I use some agressive file deletion to tool to try to kill those folders off manually?

See log contents below....Just ran it.

yml virus pic.jpg Ok, thank you for unlocking the thread.  I still have the "your music life pop up" coming up.  Here is the results of the fixlog.txt after running the ADWCleaner and applying the FRST with the latest round of recommendations.  I also ran SuperAntiSpyware after this in safe mode and it still didn't find anything and the popup persists.  I also attache an image of the popup via a screenshot capture.  Once I click on it in any way, even to close it using the X button it launches 2 browser windows taking me to various sites that are triggering alerts in my company firewall when connected at work, but they also occur when I'm at home on my home network not connected to work in any way.

OK Could you run a fresh FRST scan for me please after running this programme

Download and Install Combofix

Download ComboFix from one of the following locations:
Link 1
Link 2

VERY IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop

* IMPORTANT - Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. If you have difficulty properly disabling your protective programs, refer to this link here NSIS_extraction.png
  • When finished, it shall produce a log for you.
  • Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.
  • Notes:
    1. Do not mouse-click Combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
    2. Do not "re-run" Combofix. If you have a problem, reply back for further instructions.

    3. If after the reboot you get errors about programmes being marked for deletion then reboot, that will cure it.

Please make sure you include the combo fix log in your next reply as well as describe how your computer is running now

The program has been running for about 90 minutes now.  Sitting there at "Completed Stage_4".  I will let it keep going but I don't think its hung because when I click on the windows, it doesn't say "not responding" and pev.3XE is running at 25% of my CPU in the task manager which I can only assume is this Combofix program still running so I will let it go another hour or 2, but eventually I will not to shut this PC down this afternoon.  The warning says it may take 10 minutes or may easily double on badly infected machines, but I am way beyond double time right now.  Should I abort it and restart it or just let it go for awhile longer?
