Did the computer shut down on its own while connected to only the AC adapter.

Could still be the charger but after being ok for six days and then suddenly playing up again a bad internal connection needs to be considered, at this point I can only suggest that the notebook is taken back to the store and have them test the notebook, they may do this by using no battery and their own charger to see if the notebook remains running for an extended period of time.

Not sure what test is being run but suspect one or more of the following Ram, HDD or possibly CPU, none will tell you if there is a bad power button or bad/loose connection I`m afraid.

Not sure what has gone on there but updating the BIOS is always a last resort and needs to be done manually so it is not done by accident.

While not an ideal outcome at least the hard drive is far less expensive to replace than a whole new notebook.

Hopefully you will have no further problems and thank you for letting us know the outcome redsox1
