I need help upgraded from ME to XP everything works great but the modem
device manager sees the modem say it is working properly but
when I try to dial out it says device missing.
updated the driver, uninstalled the modem reinstalled the modem I even tried a new modem same thing. can anyone help

Did you try going into modem properties>diagnostics and querry the modem?

Did query modem, states that modem was successful. Worked perfect prior to XP upgrade.

The other day I worked on a AOL problem. User couldn't get online. I uninstalled the AOL software and re-installed it. Worked fine after that. Do you have any ISP software that you could uninstall and re-install?

computer does not have aol or any other isp software
tried to install isp software same thing.
if i have to I can back up whats needed and do a complete
wipe and reload I just dont want to go that far.

Good morning, I tried the steps in the link, computer says same thing device missing.
