Can someone recommend a free alternative to Auslogic's Bootspeed software, if there is one?

Some people suggest CCleaner, but the free version isn't thorough enough.

At the risk of sounding daft here   can I ask what you want to use the software for, Bootspeed implies system tweaking tool but CCleaner is commonly used as a clean up tool for orphan files etc.

Bootspeed does that too.  I don't know what all CCleaner paid version does.  I have seen sites that say it's a good alternative paid version) but I don; think those sites realize Bootspeed does a little more than cleanup files.

I'm looking for a free program (or group of programs) similar to Bootspeed (system tweaker, orphan file cleaner, registry cleaner, etc).

Well the truth is that such tweaking programs are not suggested, recommended or supported by GTG and by endorsing them I would be asking for a kick in the pants, CCleaner (free) is a great tool for helping keep things tidy and no problems recommending it but we do always advise that only advanced users get involved with the registry, an old but still good article by respected author miekiemoe here
