Hi - I was having problems installing updates and reinstalling Windows office after it got "lost " after installing win10. I have spent hours with windows support with no joy. If I go to services.msc and scroll to windows installer  then to properties I am not able to change anything i.e change to automatic from manual or put in a password etc. I did a reinstall of win10 but the problem still exists. I have tried various ways to get office back but every time it downloads ok says it is installed but when I try to open any apps like word excel etc  a window appears and says file cannot be found. If I go to list of prog's it is listed but no file size is indicated. Windows support has been pretty poor and they either want to charge me an arm and a leg to "try to fix it or sell me an expensive newer version of office - I am very happy with my present one ( home and student  2007). Reimage didn't sort it and the windows diagnostics didn't find any problem . I have run the installer trouble shooter and every time it says there is a problem and it has been fixed  which hasn't .There clearly is a problem with the installer . Can anyone help me as I haven't got much hair left.

Sounds like the base problem is in the OS and not the Office installer to me. Give Windows Repair All-In-One a try, see if it can resolve the problem.

Ignore the junk at the top of the page, scroll down a little to the real download links. Portable version (no install needed), direct download is what I use.

The problem is in the OS. Use windows repair system to sort out the issue and do follow the recommendation.
