Hi I am experiencing stuttering and audio skipping whenever I listen to audio whilst installing applications.

I use Firewire solo as my sound card.

I also hear electrical activity (alien-like sounds) during speakers coming out from FW solo.

None of these problems existed before I recently re-installed windows.

Please help

Clean your machine with Privazer

Then defrag with.Ultimate Defrag.

Then I would suggest that you disable useless startups, all are really not needed, except your antivirus. When you disable items from startup, a reboot is needed to feel the changes. Whats In Startup.

After the reboot, tell me how things are running.

Then Download Security Check to your desktop, right click it run as administrator. When the program completes, the tool will automatically open a log file, please post that log here in your next post.

Please download MINITOOLBOX and run it.

Checkmark following boxes:

Flush DNS
Reset FF proxy Settings
Reset Ie Proxy Settings
Report IE Proxy Settings
Report FF Proxy Settings
List content of Hosts
List IP configuration
List Winsock Entries
List last 10 Event Viewer log
List Installed Programs
List Users, Partitions and Memory size
List Devices (problems only)

Click Go and post the result.

So why does privazer have options to scan registry?

You can skip that part if you wish, I have used this program on literally hundreds of machines without issue.

Please copy and paste logs rather than attach them. I did the security check for you.

Install Ccleaner - Clean up temp files.

Go ahead and install ccleaner Now that you have the program installed go ahead and run the cleaner function.

https://www.piriform...leaner/download
kwLN4uv.png

Now that you have cleaned out some temp files, lets go ahead and disable all of the items starting up with your machine except your antivirus. To do this you will need to click on tools then start up then under the Windows Tab select each item then disable. Also under the scheduled task tab, you are safe to disable all task. Only disable items under the windows tab and scheduled task tab!

GjWwvEu.png

Now that you have disabled those un-needed start ups lets go into the settings, we will have Ccleaner run when your machine boots, so that you will never have to worry about cleaning temp files again.

To do this:

  • Hit options.
  • Settings.
  • Place a tick to run Ccleaner when the computer starts.

Lxioao1.png

Now go to the advanced tab, and select close program after cleaning, now run the cleaner again this will close Ccleaner.

I would uninstall SUPERAntiSpyware as it is useless. Here are a couple of other on demand scanners that  you can use.

Zemana Antimalware

9-Lab Removal Tool.

These will help your computing experience, with self destructing cookies there will be no more tracking cookies...

Self destructing cookies

Ublock Origin - Fan boys Ultimate list

Also, you might consider adding VooDoo Shield to your configuration, since MSE is inadequate.

I would personally use 360 Total Security or Panda Free. or Sophos Home

Thanks for your helpful advice.

I use MBAM with MSE isn't that enough?

A HTG article suggests if you're a geek then mse is fine. So I should be okay.

Cookies and history are not an issue for me, I clear them when I'm done with them.

I'm trying to fix a installation and sound issue.

The course of action you've asked me to take so far is all maintenance and protection.

Why do I need to change my hosts file to resolve an audio issue?

Everything I am asking you to do has one goal in mind.... Fixing your issue.

Everything must work for one thing to work if you get what I am saying. Most people would come in and suggest you update a driver or something. I have found that making sure the basics are running fine then you go from there. Have you disabled the startups & scheduled task? As far as the host file, spybot adds a rather large amount of items to the host file and can slow down a computer... I have reasons for suggesting what I am suggesting.....
